I’m back from summer vacation and so incredibly proud of everything Badass has been up to while I was gone. In the next few days you’ll see a recap post about our trip to the annual Canine Carnival in Syracuse, NY. We’re also proud of shout-outs from both MTV Act and the Brooklyn-based Greenpointers blog!
Our rescue community has faced some challenges too. Many of the Southern shelters we work with are overcrowded and with resources and fosters totally at capacity, heartbroken volunteers have had to stand by as great dogs are euthanized. When we heard about how this tough season has affected our friends in Florence, Alabama we wanted to help our grieving friends remember some of the many, many dogs they’ve been able to save. Danielle Malveal, who holds the distinction of being Badass’s second ever volunteer, reached out to the Badass community to request photos and videos of some of our Florence Alumni dogs and put together this video to say thank you to our Alabama friends and remind them to stay positive.
You can help Badass help our partners in the South by volunteering as a local foster family. The more great foster families we have, the more dogs we are able to save. If you live in NYC and are interested in fostering with Badass, please email foster@badassbk.com. Or, contact your local animal shelter or rescue organization to see if there is a foster program accepting applications.
As always, we appreciate the many rescuers, volunteers, foster families and adopters who have made saving these dogs possible.
Stay Badass,Nancy
