Wainwright's Lake District Walks
The name Alfred Wainwright is now for a lot of people practically synonymous with the Lake District. His "Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells", first issued between 1955 and 1966, are on the shelves of tens of thousands of ethusiasts for Lakeland fell walking. In the more recent 2nd editions they are still today carried on Lake District walking trips. This new web site focuses completely on Wainwright books. It also features many of his other works and some books and DVDs written about him.
